Hottie Dancing with the Stars guy Maksim Chmerkovskiy won’t be on this season

Saturday, February 16th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

maksimchmerkovskiy.jpg

Dancing with the Stars is just around the corner, but Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be stepping this one out. Season Six will be getting underway on March 16th.

“He just needs a break,” an ABC spokesperson tells People. “He is part of the Dancing family, and he will be back” — perhaps for the occasional results show, and quite possibly as part of a Season 7 team.

The problem with bring a reality show star - especially when your claim to fame is as a ballroom dancer - is that when Maks is done his break the fans might not want him back again, or even care if he returns or not. And what if his replacement is better?

Dancing with the Stars snubs Jenna Fischer of The Office fame.

Friday, December 28th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

jennafischer.jpg

Jenna Fischer apparently wasn’t good enough for the Dancing with the Stars producers, as she used all her angles and connections to be a contestant, all to no avail.

The actress felt sure she’d be a perfect fit for the celebrity talent contest and set about contacting show bosses when the first season of “The Office” became a TV hit.

She says, “They wouldn’t take my call. I had a dance background, I grew up doing ballet… My people called and I tried to use all of my connections and they wouldn’t see me, so I was rejected from ‘Dancing With The Stars.’”

And Fischer insists it had nothing to do with producers’ fears she’d be too professional.

She adds, “I wasn’t going to be that good. I was gonna stumble my way through, but it seemed like fun.”

She would have been a lot of fun on the show, not to mention fun for us to watch. Of course, this could all be a ploy and she actually is one of the new Dancing with the Stars 6 dancers which will premiere in March.

Dancing with the Star’s Julianne Hough gets record deal

Monday, December 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like Julianne Hough’s music career is also going to be taking off. She had previously released a single via iTunes, capping off her Dancing with the Stars win with Apolo Anton Ohno with the release of “Will You Dance with Me”. And now she is capping of the most recent season’s win with a record deal.

The two-time Dancing with the Stars champion has inked a deal with Universal Music Group’s Mercury Nashville label and is aiming to have a country single ready to roll in early 2008.

While she’s best known for helping both Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno and Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves hoist the illustrious disco ball trophy this year, equaling fellow pro Cheryl Burke in Dancing titles, Hough also released the country tune “Will You Dance with Me” via iTunes in May.

And now the 19-year-old Salt Lake City native, who as a 12-year-old was part of the pop trio 2B1G while studying dance in London, is tangoing with the idea of a full-fledged singing career.

Hough and producer David Malloy are planning to start recording her debut album next month in Nashville, per Billboard.

And of course, there are the rumor’s that she and Helio are an item, after his fiance called off the engagement. Not to mention the similar rumors that followed her relationship with Ohno after the previous season. So anyone know her man of the moment really is?

Ousted Dancing with the Stars couple Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas dating

Monday, November 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Well, we all suspected it and now its confirmed… Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas are officially a couple. They were voted off last week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, in what is said to be the most shocking cut in the franchise history. They were the far ahead favorites to win the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars, so it was a pretty big shock when they were told they were leaving. But at least she got her man!

They’ve been dancing around the speculation for weeks, but now, still reeling from the most shocking cut in the show’s five-season history, “Cheetah Girl” Sabrina Bryan admits that she and her Dancing with the Stars pro partner, Mark Ballas, are dating. “We’re going out tomorrow,” says Bryan, referring to Sunday the 4th. “He’s taking me out for a surprise this weekend and he won’t tell me what it is. He’s joking that it’s our first date because we’ve always hung out, millions of times, millions of dinners. But this is different.”
In an exclusive interview, TV Guide spoke to Bryan on Saturday night, the first full day she was back in Orange County after a blizzard of media appearances in Los Angeles and New York. “People were so angry,” says Bryan, who was both touched and surprised by the strong reaction to her ouster on Tuesday night. There is word on the Internet that there may be protest signs in the audience on Monday night. “For the producers and the talent to come up to us after the show was amazing, because they were so upset. [Judge] Carrie Ann [Inaba] was in tears. And when I saw her at The View a few days later, she was still emotional about it.”

For her part, Bryan has been remarkably self-possessed and gracious about leaving the show. But her true feelings came out two days later when she danced with Ballas again on The View. “That was the first time I actually showed a little more of a vulnerable side and cried because Mark and I did our Cha Cha again (their dance from the first week of competition) and we wanted to do it the same way that we did in the beginning,” says Bryan. “And when it ended, it was so heartbreaking because we knew we weren’t going to get a chance to really show America what we wanted to do in the competition. We had so many amazing ideas for the freestyle! They were just spewing out of us. It was so disappointing.”

It is worth noting that they are claiming the relationship didn’t turn romantic until after they were voted off. Yeah, right!

And although Byran acknowledges that people started talking about them as a couple weeks ago, she says they haven’t gone down that road – until now. “We’ve been so focused on the competition,” says Bryan. “But now that that has died down, we’ll see where it goes. We haven’t had a chance to do any of that [dating] or even talk about it. We didn’t even realize that people would think that about us until they started asking us. Because you get so close to someone, you get so comfortable, that you don’t even see it.”

But the dead giveaway may have been the moment when Bryan called Ballas “Baby” on the air when they said their thank-yous on the dance floor in front of millions. Bryan laughs. “I always call him ‘Baby Marky.’ I absolutely love and adore him.”

Apolo Anton Ohno joins the Dancing with the Stars tour

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

apolojulianne3.jpg

For everyone who was disappointed to see that Apolo Ohno wouldn’t be appearing on the Dancing with the Stars tour this summer should go out and buy their tickets now. The speed skating star and winner of the recent season’s Dancing with the Stars has decided to join up with the tour for five of the tour dates.

“After the show I started training again for the Olympics but realized quickly that I couldn’t go on without at least one more week of Samba,” Ohno, 25, said in a statement.

Of course, one does have to wonder if his appearances have anything to do with his rumored romance with his dancing partner Julianne Hough, who is on the tour with dancing partner Joey McIntyre (he was in the first season).

His first appearance on the Dancing with the Stars tour will be this Saturday in Raleigh, N.C. That is followed with Hershey, Pa., on July 2; Bridgeport, Conn., on July 3; Wilkes Barre, Pa., on July 5 and Atlantic City, NJ, on July 6. 6th.

Source

Clarification: Julianne Hough IS paired up with Joey McIntyre for the Dancing with the Stars tour, he is not dancing with his former partner from season one (as someone stated in the comments). Kym Johnson injured her arm, and Julianne Hough replaced her as Joey’s tour partner. Kym is now partnered on tour with Joey Fatone. Confused yet ;) My mistake saying Joey won season one, all these boy band guys confused me! But yes, Julianne Hough IS dancing with Joey McIntyre on tour… although I suspect she’d be dancing with Apolo Anton Ohno too!

After Dancing with the Stars, Heather Mills refuses to do more reality tv

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

heathermills.jpg

Looks like Heather Mills won’t be putting herself in front of television cameras for reality TV again anytime soon. She has vowed that her Dancing with the Stars stint was the first and last appearance on reality television.

The former model was voted off the show in April (07) after competing successfully for six weeks. She enjoyed the experience so much she’s since revealed plans to take her dancing partner on a motivational speaking tour around the U.S.

However, her enthusiasm doesn’t extend to the reality show format itself, which she brands destructive.

Mills says, “(The show was) a one-off. Reality shows, to me are when they get into personal stuff and bring negativity in. This was all positive.

“(But) I’d never do another reality show.”

Considering her approval in the general public leaped ahead thanks to her appearance on the show, her refusal to do anymore kind of surprises me. Perhaps she needs to have another run-in with her ex showing her to be a gold digger before she goes and makes an appearance on something like Survivor… or Bachelor!

Dancing with the Stars Julianne Hough launches singing career

Monday, June 11th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

apolojulianne3.jpg

Julianne Hough, best known as winning Dancing with the Stars with Olympic speedskater (and hottie!) Apolo Ohno, has launched a singing career. She has a new single “Will You Dance With Me” (how ironic!) which is available via iTunes, where 10,000 copies have already been downloaded.

No more news on the do-they-or-don’t-they relationship between the not-getting-married Julianne Hough and Apolo Anton Ohno… although I wonder why she used the dancing tour as her excuse for not getting married, when she seems to be busy in Nashville meeting with country music execs.

Anyone heard the song? Is it any good?

More Beverly Hills 90210 stars might be Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

torispelling.jpg
Looks like Ian Ziering’s successful run on Dancing with the Stars has the added affect of inspiring fellow former Beverly Hills 90210 cast members to sign on to the hit reality dancing show.

Jason Priestley has reportedly said he has no plans (or at least, so he says!) to join the cast, but Tori Spelling is reportedly in talks with the producers to appear on the next Dancing with the Stars.

The former 90210 star and current co-star of Oxygen’s Tori & Dean: Inn Love has been in discussions with Dancing with the Stars’ producers about appearing as a celebrity contestant in the reality competition series, OK! reported in its May 28 issue.

“It’s one of the best experiences [Ziering’s] ever had,” a “source” told OK! about why Spelling might consider competing on Dancing with the Stars. Ziering and his professional partner Cheryl Burke came in fourth during Dancing with the Stars’ recently concluded fourth season.

Well, I was never a big Tori fan, and I would prefer to see just about any other of the BH 90210 cast members on the show, but you have to admire the fact she has managed to turn reality shows into a career… not to mention her life is just such good tabloid fodder that it makes great reality tv!

Spice Girl Melanie Brown (Mel B) to dance on next Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the leaks are already starting for the next season of Dancing with the Stars, just a week after Apolo Anton Ohno & partner Julianna won the fourth season. Melanie Brown, best known as Mel B. of the Spice Girls, and more recently as being the (supposed?) baby mama to Eddie Murphy’s newest baby, is reportedly already practicing to appear in the next season of Dancing with the Stars.

While she isn’t the first Spice Girl on the list that I’d chose, you know she will bring the drama!

Dancing with the Stars Apolo Anton Ohno reason for Julianna Hough’s canceled wedding?

Sunday, May 27th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

apolojulianne.jpg

We all saw the chemistry between Apolo Anton Ohno and his dancing partner Juliana Hough. But is he the reason why the eighteen-year-old canceled her upcoming wedding to fiance Zach Wilson?

Their chemistry in the ballroom contributed to two-time Olympic gold medalist speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno and his professional partner Julianne Hough receiving Dancing with the Stars’ fourth season mirror ball trophy, but inquiring minds across America have been wondering if the spark between the pair was extinguished since the dancing shoes have came off.

“There’s no truth to [the rumors of a romantic relationship]. Our relationship was strictly professional. It was sometimes goofy, but strictly professional,” Ohno told the New York Post.

Fueling speculation about a possible romance was the fact that Hough canceled her August 8, 2007 wedding to former dancer Zach Wilson less than two weeks before Dancing with the Stars’ fourth season finale. Hough and Wilson were planning to wed in a Mormon ceremony in her home state of Utah, but due to her busy schedule with Ohno on Dancing with the Stars, the couple instead decided to wait to tie the knot. However Ohno says Hough’s wedding postponement and his chemistry with the 18-year-old professional dancer should not cause people to speculate.

Apparently her finance isn’t worried, but given Apolo’s bad boy rep, shouldn’t he be!!! And canceling the wedding just two weeks before the season finale of Dancing with the Stars? I can’t help but wonder why they wouldn’t have quietly announced that the wedding was off AFTER the final episode.

But supposedly the wedding is merely being postponed… for now.

But don’t they look cosy in these photos from the premiere of Pirates of the Carribbean 3? (courtesy Reuters)

Apolo Anton Ohno wins Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I admit, I do like Apolo Ohno back from his first Olympics. And now he has achieved reality star super status by claiming the title of Dancing with the Stars champion.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Apolo Anton Ohno earned a new title Tuesday: “Dancing With the Stars” champion.

The speed skater and his partner, Julianne Hough, beat out former ‘N Sync star Joey Fatone to win the ABC dance-off’s mirror-ball trophy.

“I feel amazing,” the ebullient Ohno said. “You put your mind to something, you give 100 percent, sacrifice and dedication, anything is possible.”

Ohno, 25, became a technical master during the season, training in the dance studio as he would on the ice.

“Apolo’s competitiveness is almost on the verge of insanity,” his coach, John Schaeffer, said on Tuesday’s show.

I have to say I am happy he won the finale, although I have to say John (AKA Cliff Claven) departure from the show earlier in the season made my decision of who to cheer for much easier!

Former Dancing with the Stars Vivica A. Fox arrested for drunk driving

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Vivica A. Fox, who appeared in last season’s Dancing with the Stars, has been arrested on a D.U.I. charge in California.

California Highway Patrol pulled Fox over on the Hollywood Freeway after she passed a patrol car who clocked her at 80mph. Soon after, it was discovered that the 42-year-old actress was driving while intoxicated. Her blood alcohol level was greater than .08 percent, which is the legal limit.

No one in Vivica’s camp will comment on the situation yet.

What is up with these celebs and their drunk driving lately? Itbis kind of unfortunate that Vivica was not still a contestant on the show, they could have booted her butt out of the competition and used her as an example of how a DUI can screw up your career.

Dancing with the Stars starts 14 day cross country roadtrip

Thursday, March 8th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Do you have what it takes to be a dancing star? If so, you could win a chance to dance - in front of fans - with one of the dancers featured in the Dancing with the Stars roadtrip.

In ABC’s latest bid to promote the fourth season of the fleet-footed reality competition, the network has dispatched a squad of elaborately costumed dancers on a trek across the country that began Monday in New York.

The road trip is scheduled to take the dancers to seven cities in all, and will conclude at the Dancing with the Stars studio in Los Angeles on March 19, coinciding with the season premiere.

At each stop along the way, the road trip team will be holding auditions to suss out the best of the local talent. Those deemed worthy will then be paired up with a pro dancer to perform a short routine in front of a panel of judges.

Video of each city’s winner will be posted on abc.com, and fans will then be able to vote for the participant they think should win a grand prize trip to Los Angeles.

They also have a special website set up at dancingwiththestarsroadtrip.com where you can view all the details of when they will be where.

An interesting promotional idea… not that I really think they need any more promotional help. But I guess it can’t hurt, just in case!
